Sweet Boys……..

Israel Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir has a surprising way of describing a group of Jewish terrorists.

His “sweet boys” (probably with their brothers, fathers and uncles), last week rampaged through Palestinian villages, burning houses, cars and everything else in their way. These “sweet boys” have for months been destroying Palestinian agricultural crops, burning fields, destroying orchards and for years have been harassing the Palestinian population in the occupied territories, showing them that they, the “sweet boys” are in control of the Occupied Territories and that the presence of Palestinians is temporarily only.

These “sweet boys” regularly destroy army equipment when military actions to protect the Palestinians against their terror are not to their liking, and only last week they prevented violently a senior Officer to pay his respects to the family of one on the settlers killed last week.

These are not “sweet boys”. These “Hilltop Youth” as they are also lovingly called, are terrorists.  They commit terrorist acts, they reign terror over the local population and they have killed in the past as well. They are terrorists like the Palestinians that terrorize the Jewish population and should be treated the same way.

It has been reported often that these Jewish terrorists, even when the Army realizes what they are doing, are not being stopped like the army (very effectively) stops Palestinian terrorists. It is high time that the Army and their political leaders stop condoning Jewish terrorism and give orders to open fire on Jewish terrorists, just like they shoot at Palestinian terrorists. If these “sweet boys” terrorists are not stopped now, it will soon not be possible to stop them.

The problem of course is the fact that their leaders today sit at the cabinet table and with Ben Gvir, calling them sweet boys, and Smotrich calling their terror, merely a “civil crime”. Add to that the abdominal remark by minister Struck, who compared the Israeli defense establishment with the Wagner group, it becomes clear that Israeli terror is here to stay and will get worse, with the full backing of responsible ministers, and shameful silence by others.

But the deeper, and of course unofficial reason why Jewish terrorism is allowed and encouraged, goes way beyond the fascist elements in the Israeli government today and in fact has been allowed and silently encouraged by this and previous governments with one single goal in mind: to create a large presence of Jews in the Occupied Territories and make it clear to Palestinians that they had better run off before it is too late. And only this week, Netanyahu, in a closed meeting of a Knesset committee, stated that Israel’s goal was and is to “Crush Statehood Ambitions by the Palestinians”.

After years of supposed attempts to negotiate, (“Israel has no partner”) promises made to the U.S., and endless talk about possibilities that exist, it is now very clear. Israel never intended, and never will allow, the formation of a Palestinian State.  And as long as no opportunity arises to declare Israel’s sovereignty over the Occupied Territories, the “sweet boys” of Ben-Gvir are a useful tool to prevent Palestinian Statehood, while to Israeli government remains quietly in the background.

The increase is settlement building that was announced recently is just a sign that the Israeli government believes they will be able to increase the flow of Jews into the Occupied Territories without anyone stopping them. Every house that is built in the Occupied Territories will bring a Jewish State in “Eretz Yisrael” a little closer. And who cares that that Jewish State will be an Apartheid State or even worse, a Jewish Supremacist State.
