The Dilemma Israel is Facing

Three weeks after the barbaric massacre by Hamas sub-humans in the border communities near the Gaza strip, Israel is still pounding Gaza and set on destroying Hamas and its despicable leaders, in order to make sure that such a disaster will never happen again.

But Israel is facing a dilemma like it never has before.

In order to destroy Hamas, aerial bombardments alone are not enough. A major ground operation will be required to find all the terrorists and their commanders who are now holed up undergrounds and leave the hardships of war to the civilian population. But a ground war will be long and exhausting and undoubtedly cost the lives of many hundreds of Israeli soldiers (more than three hundred of them already fell in the early fighting). In addition, the world opinion, which is already turning against Israel, will let loose its distorted “humanitarian” feelings and blame Israel for the deaths in Gaza, the fact there is no electricity, no food, no medicine, no water and no safe haven, and of genocide of the poor Palestinians.

It really is incomprehensible how the brutal slaughter of more than eight hundred civilians, including babies in the arms of their mothers, elderly people and youngsters enjoying a music festival, did not make an impression on these ignorants, but the legitimate defense of a nation against a terror organization that has as its only goal the destruction of Israel, arouses this fake and ridiculous response of “genocide”.

Israel will not be perturbed by the opinions of ignorant, mindless people and will do what is necessary.

However, the biggest part of the dilemma Israel is facing, concerns the lives of approximately two hundred people who were taken by the barbarians into Gaza and are being held hostage now. Their lives will be used by Hamas as a bargaining chip against Israel to save the lives of the savages that planned and initiated the mass murder three weeks ago. The ground operation, which had been expected to start two weeks ago already is being postponed again and again, possibly under pressure from the Americans, but definitely because the Israeli leadership has not come to a decision what is more important: the hostages or the Destruction of Hamas. And unless the Israeli army has surprises up its sleeve, this dilemma will decide the future of Israel as we know it.

No war in Israel’s history placed the country in a position where the lives of so many civilians were at stake and hard decisions are now required.

This may become the main issue of controversy in Israel very soon, and while nobody today is willing to say out loud that Israel will be forced to sacrifice the hostages to save the State, it is a question that will need to be dealt with at some point.

And when looking at the dismal leadership that is “leading” Israel these days, with a Prime Minister who is only busy with finding others to blame for the disaster and a bunch of his cronies who only goal in life is to please Netanyahu, there is little hope that they will be willing or able to make any decisions, from what they will have for breakfast to sending the army into Gaza.

Negotiations, which appear underway with Egypt and Qatar may result in the release of some of the hostages (four of them were already released) but the demands that Hamas is making at this point are impossible for Israel to even come close to meeting and it is to be hoped that Hamas in time will be weakened enough that the savages leading the terrorists are sufficiently pushed in a corner to exchange their lives for that of the hostages.

In the meantime, Israel is starting incursions of ground forces into the strip, which may indicate that a real ground war will soon be underway.

Israel will not rest until it brings home the hostages, but also will not stop until Hamas and its murderous barbarians are wiped of this earth.
