After six weeks of the war against Hamas in the Gaza strip, which was started after brutal animals slaughtered hundreds of men, women and children (including babies) and took two hundred and forty innocents hostage into the Gaza strip, surprisingly, the “buzzword” used by world leaders, United Nations representatives, and almost anyone who believes he needs something to say about this war, is “HUMANITY” or “HUMANITARIAN”.
From humanitarian aid, humanitarian corridors, humanitarian cease-fire, humanitarian conditions in Gaza hospitals, to crimes against humanity, it all appears to be around “humans” and “humane”. However, correct me if I am wrong but on that fatal October 7th, I don’t remember anyone talking about “humanitarian” and certainly not about “crimes against humanity. True, the horrible crimes in the Israeli villages and kibbutzim were not perpetrated by humans but the world didn’t notice and still claims the stories of the survivors and the horrors that were clearly visible to all, were fabricated, exaggerated and simply not true. From the idiot Roger Waters (how is a man, who made such incredible music in his lifetime reduced to such a babbling imbecile?) to the United Nations representative (Secretary-General Antonio Guterres), the International Red Cross (Mirjana Spoljaric), the WHO (Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus) and of course many politicians world-wide. None of these so-called important people noticed what happened on the Gaza border?
But now that Israel is responding, and responding in force, both to return the hostages, and rid the world of Hamas, the word HUMANE, HUMANITARIAN etc, are being used freely to condemn a nation that is fighting for its life.
Agreed, the Palestinian people in Gaza suffer greatly these days, leaving their homes, seeing their homes destroyed, and many of them killed, but Israel has done and still is doing everything to get these people out of the war zone, by creating safe corridors for them to move south, by allowing aid into Gaza from Egypt, and warning every time before buildings are marked for destruction.
But where were these people for the past twenty years? What did they do when Hamas took over hospitals, schools and apartment buildings to conceal their murderous activities, to store their weaponry and to provide safe places for their leaders? How did they react when the leaders of Hamas sought refuge in Qatar where for the past few years Ismail Haniyeh, Moussa Abu Marzuk and Khaled Mashal have lived in luxury in hotels and the three “leaders” alone have amassed more than eleven billion dollars from their activity in Hamas. No doubt Hamas, being a terrorist organization, has threatened and will threaten anyone who dares to stand up against them, but how much as a population are you willing and able to accept from your leaders? Not to mention that Hamas actually gained its strength in 2007 when “elections” were held and they were happily voted into office by the population.
Israel does, and should do anything possible to prevent and minimize civilian casualties but this is for Israel a war of survival, more than any other war in its seventy-five year history and Israel cannot and should not stop before Hamas is history. The price will be high also for Israel, from a human standpoint, economic and political and international, but if Hamas is not destroyed, it will grow stronger and in a couple of years, we again will be faced with a similar or worse disaster.
The U.S. and other countries are worried about “the day after”. Israel doesn’t have time to think about that except that on “the day after”, there will be no Hamas and Gaza will not again become a hotbed of terror.
And all those accusing Israel of “crimes against humanity” better learn some history and think again. While Israel opens “humanitarian corridors” for the population to go south, out of the war zone, Hamas is actively preventing people from going south and has even fired on them just for trying to escape. How is that called in the world?
Humanitarian aid and “humane” behavior even in war are important, but it is time to realize that humanitarian aid is meant for humans only. And as long as most of what enters the Gaza strip today falls into the hands of a small group of sub-human animals Israel has every right limit the aid as much as she can.
